   About Us

Our Uniqueness

The United Church of Schellsburg was formed in 1964. Established in 1806 and through years of change within a small strong Christian community made up of four churches, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, and Evangelical and Reformed came together in order to keep God first for the betterment of community life. This unique merger was the first in these United States to bridge ritual differences for the one true commandment to Love One Another and form one church for all, the United Church of Schellsburg.

Welcome to Worship

We welcome you to visit us for a worship service. You will be greeted with cheerfulness and friendliness. To help put you at ease we offer the need-to-know information we ourselves would appreciate if we were visiting a new church.

  • Sunday Services

    9:30am Worship with everyone

10:00am Children's Church [children are dismissed along with their teacher]

  • Arrival:  We have parking lots on both sides of the church and also there is parking allowed streetside at the front entrance of the church. The side doors (Market street) offers a stairless entryway to access the sanctuary. The congregation uses all entrances.

  • Nursery:  The nursery is located just outside the front of the sanctuary. It is equipped with toys, and quiet activities with furniture to suit both them and adults. We have nursery attendants. The room has a speaker to hear the service if you would like to spend time with your child.

  • Coffee & Fellowship:  Join us downstairs in the Fellowship room following the service to make new friends, or catch up with those you may know. There is always good food and fellowship.

  • Attire:  Our code is 'come as you are'. We mostly fall into the category between casual & dressy. The key word here is 'come'. Come and feel at home.
